Terry Hoeppner, coach of the Indiana Hoosiers, and former Miami (Ohio) coach, died this morning from a brain tumor. Hoeppner was known for leading the 2003 Miami squad to a 13-1 record, with Ben Roethlisberger at the helm. That record culminated in a GMAC Bowl appearance. He finished his coaching career at 57-39, but had just a 9-14 record with Indiana. This is now 2 years in a row that a Big Ten coach has died. Last year, Northwestern coach Randy Walker died of a heart attack.
Rest in peace, Terry Hoeppner.
