Quick Saturday Summary

JasonO's quick reactions to Saturday's NFL preseason action...
...Saturday was the first preseason game for about half of NFL teams, and the happiest winners of all were probably the Washington Redskins. The Redskins went 0-4 last August and were significantly outscored. Head coach Joe Gibbs felt that some of that carried into the regular season causing them to get off to a poor start. The Redskins took care of the Titans in Tennessee (who were without Vince Young) yesterday, though I am not sure how thrilled Gibbs was with his QB Jason Campbell's performance.
...The problem with inconsistent play is that it is hard to tell when it's over. Rex Grossman saw his first on-field action yesterday since his abysmal performance in the Super Bowl. Grossman went 8 for 10 for 50 yards, and well, looked very sharp. Lovie Smith was no doubt pleased, but I am sure he has not forgotten how sharp Grossman looked at times last year.
....Believe it or not, yes, that was Tim Couch briefly in behind center in the Jacksonville-Miami game. Couch, who was picked up by the Jags a couple of weeks ago, went 2 for 4 for 11 yards in the game which Miami won 18-17.
