Bottom of the table after 7 games, knocked out of the League Cup by League 1 leaders Leyton Orient, QPR have today sacked manager John Gregory.
The club have been struggling under Gregory and narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship last season. The drawn-out take-over of the cash-strapped West-Londoners by Formula 1 tycoons Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore is still not complete and the club were forced to sell key players including former Watford winger Lee Cook over the summer. This has left them rooted to the bottom of the table, struggling for goals and yet to win a game this season.
Former World Player of the Year, Chelsea and Watford manager Gianluca Vialli was spotted at a recent match but has denied any links to the managers job as pressure built on Gregory. Martin Allen, recently sacked by Leicester City after only a few months in charge has also been linked to the now vacant role at Loftus Road.
