Putting the Roar back in the Tigers

The day after their dramatic 5-2 victory on Wednesday night, the Detroit Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox 2-1. After trailing 1-0 through the first 6 innings, the Tigers scored 1 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th and kept the Sox of the board w/ great bullpen work. Young reliever Joel Zumaya came out of the pen firing fastballs up to 102 mph on the gun, shutting out the Sox in 2 innings of relief. Todd Jones came out to close it in his usual fassion: a scary 3 deep fly outs in the outfield.
However, the play of the game quite possibly could have been Marcus Thames breaking up a double play in the bottom of the 7th. This later allowed Craig Monroe to score from first base on a Chris Shelton double in the next at bat. It's the little things a winning team does, and the Tigers showed those today.
The win today marked their 2nd out of 3 versus the Sox. Sure they've struggled vs. the Sox this year, but I think this series marked the turn around. After today the Tigers are now 5 and a half games up on Chicago, and I don't see them falling off any time soon. Baseball is back in Detroit.
