Pujols Likely Headed to DL

9
Vote

Albert Pujols has a strained right oblique, which he got while going for a foul ball on Saturday. While he going to be rexamined on Sunday, he will most likely go on the disabled list and miss 2-6 weeks.

Pujols leads the Major Leagues with 25 Home Runs, and 65 RBI.

Two weeks would be tough enough, but if he's out 6 weeks then any chance he has to break any single season recods goes out the window. There's always next year.

Yeah, he needs a 140 game season, and even that's close.

Unfortunately, I know all about oblique injuries. I have rich harden on my fantasy team. I would bet Pujols will be out about 3 weeks. That enough time off to potentially hurt his chances at some big time records.

With the Cardinals pitching problems, this opens the door for someone like the Astros or Reds to challenge in the Central. It's not a lock for St. Louis anymore.

Pujols out yes~ but this isn't the team of ALBERT...This is a great time to see other players step it up to fill in the void of our #3 batter. Edmonds today on game 3 to stop the steaking sweep of the cubs nails a 2 run, 3 hit, 2 rbi game stepping it up after almost becoming a member of the DL himself. What san I say, it's going to be tough but the Cards are a TOUGH team and the pitching is due to turn around. Even with a win today we can't keep going through 6 pitchers a game.

The Cards are still a decent team, sure, but they just lost the best hitter in baseball. No amount of stepping up from the others guys is going to make up for that. If anyone else in the NL Central is going to be taken as a serious contender, this is their time to make a move.

I still think the team can pick up some slack...Edmonds will be key...he came thru today with only one pinch hit at bat in the last 7 games. 8 time gold glove back in action~~~and after todays appearance I believe he's going to help pull the team through until Pujols is back...lets just keep him healthy. Scott Rolen had two hits and three rbi's and Juan Encarnacion had a pair of rbi doubles...but again I state pitching needs to pull though now more than ever

Coming from a Cards fan, it'll be okay. It's time for the rest of the team to finally step up...edmonds coming back is a BIG BIG plus and this is definitely a good opportunity for him to get his season turned around. Rolen has already been on a tear, and Spiezio has been having a career year himself. If Encarnacion could find his swing, then the Cards should be able to salvage some of the time Pujols is out. If all that is lost this season is Pujols doesn't break a steroid-laden record then I'd be thrilled...I'm tired of all the HR record talk after Barry Balco Bonds anyways
