Prior's Recovery Delayed

Chicago Cubs fading SP Mark Prior is dealing with a physical setback that has nothing to do with his right shoulder rehab. In true Cubs fashion, Prior was unable to throw because he is battling with food poisoning that he picked up here in Arizona. Rothschild added that Prior will resume his throwing program once he is able, but no one can be certain right now when that might be and how long it will take him to feel at full strength again.

Upon hearing that Prior contracted food poisining from bad shell fish, Dusty Baker immediately ordered 2 extra dozen shrimp for Prior. When asked about it the next day Baker said "I am tired of being criticized for the way I feed my pitchers. I thought the guy could handle a few more shrimp. He's a young guy and young guys heal quicker." Rumor has it that Kerry Wood's recovery was also delayed when he ordered a hamburger than apperently had mad cow disease. Dust Baker again disavowed any connection between the way he handles his pitching staff and the rash of food poisoning amongst his ptichers.
