Premier League Roundup: Special Edition

Chelscum 2 Reading 1: I could approach this and say Chelsea are lucky bastards, but I won't. It started in the 29th minute, on a horrible Petr Cech goalkeeping play, in which he went to catch the ball and completely missed it (knocking both of his defenders out in the process), and Andre Bikey had the easiest goal of his life, to make it Reading 1-0 up. John Oster almost made it 2-0 in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the post.  After that, Reading absolutely collapsed. Within 2 minutes of the 2nd half, Frank Lampard equalized for Chelsea. Of course, it's not a Chelsea win, if Didier "Swan Dive" Drogba doesn't score the winning goal. A 25 yard strike went past Marcus Hannemann to win it for Chelsea in the 49th.

Man United 1 Portsmouth 1: Paul Scholes scored for Man U, and Benjani scored the equalizer for Portsmouth, as the Red Devils are in the bottom half of the table, with 2 straight draws. Oh well, it's better than 2 losses.

Fulham 2 Bolton 1: Brilliant start for the Wanderers. Dead last with 2 losses and against the team that shouldn't even be in the Premier League. David Healy and Alex Smertin rallied Fulham in the 22nd and 25th minute after being a goal down to Bolton at Craven Cottage.

Wigan 1 Middlesbrough 0: This new concept of scoring a goal worked as Wigan get their first win of the season.

Birmingham City 2 Sunderland 2: Very close game, but neither side get all 3 points today. Birmingham get their first result of the new season. Sunderland once again had to score in the 90th minute on a Stern John goal.

Man City 1 Derby 0: 2-0 start for Sven Goran Erikkson. Now they just need an offense and they'll be successful.

I got home last evening, after breaking my lawnmower and then taking it into the shop for repairs, just in time to watch the Hideous Drogba ruin my night.

One of the staff at United came into my shop yesterday and was very positive about our chances. He pointed out that United did not train at all on the Far East tour and this is probably the reason for the slow start. We have the horses to run the distance and dropping 4 points is not the end of the world...it will be the end of the world if we drop any against city this weekend. Come on you RED DEVILS!!!
