Prediction for a weaker Conference: The NFC predictions

As the 2007 NFL season kicks off we all know one cold hard fact. That fact is that the AFC is the much tougher conference than the NFC. Hey if you don't like it just look at the last ten Super Bowl Results and you'll surely see that the AFC has won 8 of them. The AFC has become like the SEC of the NFL just twice as tough. Let's face it: the Patriots, Colts or Chargers would all be at least 13-3 in the NFC and with the right luck schedule wise might break it as undefeated if they played in the NFC. Heck the Raiders might even be mediocre in the NFC. Well......probably not the Raiders have a ways to go before they can be a prominent and dominant program again.

Ok, enough talking about the loaded AFC. After all this article is supposed to highlight the NFC. After last year, most people would probably say that the Saints and Bears are the clear cut favorites to win the NFC and possibly take down an AFC giant in the Superbowl. Let's get one thing straight: the Saints don't have a chance against the AFC's finest, their best shot would be drawing an underexperienced Bengals or Chargers team. However I think that the 4 teams with the loftiest expectations (Eagles, Bears, Saints and Seahawks) will all go on to win their respective divisions. Seeing that the Saints and Eagles will have a tougher time with their divisions, I would naturally say that the Bears will finish with the first seed and a 13-3 record and the Seahawks with the second seed and a 12-4 record. Ironically the teams with the most Superbowl experience will finish 1 and 2.

Now that leaves room for 4 more playoff spots. I see the Saints occupying the third seed with a 11-5 record and the Eagles taking up the 4th seed with an 11-5 record. Both of these teams will obviously win their division. Now expect a huge year from two quarterbacks, their names are Eli Manning and Matt Leinart. The much maligned Eli Manning will lead the Giants to a 10-6 record to occupy the fifth seed. Last but not least how can a quarterback as talented as Matt Leinart not find recievers with the likes of Bolden and Larry Fitzgerald? Cards and Leinart should make the playoffs for the first time in the last one million years with a 9-7 record.

-Playoff Predictions

1st round

3. Saints beat 6 Cards and 5. Giants upset 4. Eagles

2nd Round

1. Bears takeout the 5. Giants showing off their defense
2. Seahawks toast the Saints in an offensive display

  1. 2 Seahawks beat the Bears in a close game to march off to the Super Bowl for the second time in 2 years.

From there I can see the Hawks losing to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
