If someone can explain why Ryan Braun doesn't deserve to be the NL ROY without being stupid, I'll give them $1,000.

Braun certainly deserves it -- I won't argue that he doesn't, but I will say that Tulowitski had the highest WPA among National League shortstops and set a rookie record for homeruns by a shortstop. And brought his team to the playoffs.

Because Braun committed an absurd amount of errors, while Tulowitzki had the best fielding percentage in baseball among shortstops.

Tulowitzki also hit over .290 with 99 rbis and over 100 runs scored.

Braun's team faded down the stretch as did Braun himself. After a slow start Tulowitzki had his best months in August and September and helped lead his team into the playoffs.

To me this one isn't even close.

I'm an Astros fan and I love Hunter Pence, and I still say that anyone who thinks it isn't Braun is a flaming imbecile. Superfan, the day that people vote on ROY because of defense is the day I eat my dog for lunch. In a day when the people considered to be the most dominant ballplayers include David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard, it should be painfully obvious that nobody cares about defense anymore. Braun should and will win.

Braun was not only the best rookie, but one of the better players in the NL once he got called up.
