You don't know that. Maybe they used what the learned early in the game to help themselves later in the game.

Oh, I do know that. You think they got the tape to an office, watched it and deciphered all the calls that quickly? The point of what they were doing is to get an entire game's worth of calls that would take weeks to analyze and chart and then use the next time they played. If it was that easy to steal the calls, they'd just have the guy watching and taking notes.

That is rank speculation that doesn't actually make much sense. Why would they have been recording the Packers who they wouldn't meet again for about another 5 years?

I disagree that you know. Unless you're on the staff, you can't know when they will implement the information. You can make educated guesses but that is the extent of any of our knowledge with regards to this subject.

I'll concede that the reason for taping is to use it in future games. They may be able to decipher some of the information for use later in the game, but detailed analysis will take time.

How would you punish them? You can't make them forfeit a future game, because you can't detect the implementation of illicitly obtained information. You can however, catch them and punish them while they are obtaining it.

They might not meet the Packers for five years, but they could track tendencies and signals of coaches that they might see in other systems.

yeah, that makes total sense. Why don't we just make them forfeit the entire season? What good comes out of the season when they can't make the playoffs? Why don't we just kick everyone who ever cheated out of the NFL forever?

The league would neve go for that. The income lost from not only the dumping of tickets but low TV ratings would be hard to overcome.
