I'm going to have to say Moses Malone should be recognized.

20.6 points, 12.2 rebounds a game in the NBA. He hardly got recognized.

I'm pretty sure many half the basketball fans worldwide and here at AGM don't even know who Moses Malone is.

They'll probably say, "Don't you mean Karl Malone?"

Maybe most of the people you know. Most of the people who have just followed the NBA don't even know who anyone is besides the players that anyone on the street is (like Magic Johnson or Larry Bird or Jabaar). I haven't heard Malone's name come up in months when it comes to the 80's. All I hear are the regulars: players who were on the Celtics (Bird, McHale, Parrish), Lakers (Johnson, Jabaar, Worthy), and Dr. J's name has come up for the 76ers... but Moses Malone? Not that much.

[[Vote! I'll always remember him as a... aka "the Pete Rose Game"(fun stuff)

|All three of them]].

I did see him with the Sixers (both times around) AND with the Spurs! (I have seen the Spurs in person far too many times), but never saw him with the Spirits of St. Louis...

He's a 3 time MVP, but look at all the other players who have been named 3 time MVPs: Kareem Abdul Jabbar (6x), Magic Johnson (3x), Bill Russell (5x), Michael Jordan (5x), Larry Bird (3x), Wilt Chamberlain (4x)...

Now, I'm not saying that he's any better than any of these guys. However, I'm saying that he doesn't get any recognition. He has played during the 70's and 80's when the Celtics and Lakers pretty much dominated the NBA. He should be one of these big names if he has won 3 MVPs, right? Maybe for you, Manny and Kelsdad because you have actually watched him play... and for you Davis, because you know a lot about the history of the game yourself. However, I'm talking about people who have followed the game after the 70's-80's. Sure he's considered one of the best centers of all time, but a 3 time MVP deserves more credit, IMO.

I dunno, maybe I just need to hang around with more NBA fans who know a lot about the history of the game. :S

(OK, screw it. You guys win. I tried to make a compelling argument...)

everyone remembers him for the famous sweep of the lakers in the 82 NBA finals i even consider him a lil overrated considering he only won 3 titles and Dr.J only won one

I think Romi's point is valid. There's probably more people under the age of 30 that know who Daryl Dawkins was better than Moses Malone... the broken backboard, naming of his dunks like "Yo'Mama", the run on ESPN's "We Suck at What We Do, So We'll Have a Show Where We Make An Athlete Into An Announcer" show...

83 Finals, not 82, Hart...

Remember Dawkins said "Fo' Fo' Fo'..."

Who scored the most points in the NBA during the 1980s? If you know the answer, you have the answer.

Parish, of those listed. He quietly starred while Bird, McHale, DJ and others got their bows. Others worth considering : Alex English, Tom Chambers, Adrian Dantley, Byron Scott.

Tom Chambers had the greatest dunk ever by a white man. "When he hit Mark, he was high, but then he went even higher!"
