Yeah, I was trying to differentiate between comedic and non-comedic movies. And even though "Hoop Dreams" was a non-scripted (somewhat) documentary, shouldn't it still be considered dramatic? I think that it should.
Coach Carter's been told 15 times before, and Glory Road just sucked. I'm still pissed at how badly Disney butchered one of the great all-time sports stories.
If you haven't seen Hoop Dreams before or haven't watched it in a while. It is a MUST watch for any college basketball fan. These kids and their parents are put into such a skewed world based on the "talent" they possess. I remember at the time it came out just watching the documentary with my jaw dropped. It was a total revelation. A lot more has come into the mainstream consciousness about these kinds of issues since Hoop Dreams, but it's still THE seminal documentary on prep hoop stars.
