Baptism by fire! The first month of the Bugs & Cranks Indoor Four contest saw twenty-five contestants and an unlikely hero--Kevin Youkilis.
We still find it hard to comprehend. Pete Marshall doesn't, though, and we can't wait to hear how he dropped our $75! Flashdance? We'll keep you posted.

Here’s how it works:
1. You may select one player per month. Once any single contestant has chosen a player, said player is designated for that month and cannot be chosen again until the following month. Selections can be made at any time throughout a given month but in order to be eligible for that day’s games, must be done before 1 p.m. eastern standard time. Any selections made after 1 pm est will be eligible for the remainder of the month beginning with the following day’s games. Please note, some contestants will choose the same players - this is a first come, first serve contest. Whichever contestant submits his/her choice first will be awarded that particular player for that particular month. We will update this post daily, so be sure to come back to check the bottom of the post with the updated list of players chosen to better make your monthly selection. Any efforts to submit more than one entry per month will be disregarded and disqualify you for that given month.
2. This contest is based on all MLB official scorer’s rulings. Only officially scored inside the park home runs will be eligible. No triples with a one base error or any other creative score keeping.
3. The contest runs on a monthly basis, however, should some lucky contestant pick a player that gets it done one week into the month–the award will be handed out, and we’ll start anew. Also note, should two (or more) players achieve an “indoor four” on the same day, whichever player accomplishes the feat first will bring victory for his contestant. However, a $30 gift card from Best Buy will be awarded for those second, third, etc..
4. MORE INCENTIVE : The player selected that collects the most triples for the month, will translate to a $20 gift card from Best Buy for his contestant. Should there be a tie amongst two or more contestants, the prize will be split evenly–$10 gift cards all around. Please note, however, triples will only begin accumulating after a player has been chosen by a contestant.
5. Bugs & Cranks writers and staffers are not eligible to participate.
The real question becomes--why wouldn't you play? Submit a player and cross your fingers to see if you'll follow in the footsteps of Pete Marshall and cash a $75 trip to Best Buy on B & C's dime!
So, once again summon your magic 8-ball's and Baseball Encyclopedias, but if you want our honest opinion, perhaps you should track down whichever flavor of Kool-Aid "Nostradamus" Marshall drank that opened the universe and revealed Kevin Youkilis as the $75 man. It worked once and we shall never doubt again.
