Born on May 22, 1915 in Waterbury, Connecticut, Pinky Woods (George Rowland Woods) played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 3 year career. Woods broke into the bigs on June 20, 1943 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.92 ERA in 100.2 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.
