Pinky Higgins (Michael Franklin Higgins) was born on May 27, 1909 in Red Oak, Texas. He made his Major League debut on June 25, 1930 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1933, his rookie year, he hit .314 with 13 home runs and 99 RBI. Higgins played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 14 year career.
