Piggy Ward (Frank Gray Ward) was born on April 16, 1867 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on June 12, 1883 for the Philadelphia Quakers. In 1892, his rookie year, he hit .290 with 1 home run and 33 RBI. Ward played for the Philadelphia Quakers, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds and Washington Senators over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Piggy Ward's best season was 1894, when he stole 41 bases and hit for a .303 average.
