Pierre Avoids Arbitration

The new Chicago Cubs center-fielder Juan Pierre signed a $5.75 million, one-year contract with the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs acquired Pierre from the Florida Marlins in December and Pierre made $3.7 million last year. Initially, Pierre requested $6.5 million and the Cubs offered $5 million, so the two parties met half-way.

Kaz Matsui might rebound this year. He is moving out of the #2 hole, where he never belonged and will bat from the 8th slot. I could see him batting .280, 15+ HR which would make him an above average 2B.

Hopefully Kaz won't ever get a chance to play so we won't have to wait and see if he reaches those stats. By the way, I didn't really say that Juan Pierre sucks. Aaron said it when he was setting up my account for me. I think Pierre is great and would love to have him on my team.

its good to hear matsui is finally moving out of the 2 hole... now if he can just finally take his head out of his own 2 hole, he might be able to play baseball
