Pid Purdy (Everett Virgil Purdy) was born on June 15, 1904 in Beatrice, Nebraska. He made his Major League debut on September 7, 1926 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .309 with 0 home runs and 25 RBI. Purdy played for the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Pid Purdy's best season was 1928, when he hit for a .309 average.
