Pick

When an offensive player sets his/her position next to a defender in an attempt to impede the defender's ability to move.

The common scenario is a big man setting a pick for guard who will use the pick by dribbling around the big man. Because of the wall created by the pick, the defender is forced to go around the big man which gives the guard enough time and space to shoot.
