Phil Smith (Phillip Keith Smith) was born on April 28, 1960 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Junipero Serra (Gardena, CA), Smith attended San Diego State University. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1983 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1984 was Phil Smith's best year, as he had 651 kick return yards and ran back a kickoff for a touchdown.
