Phil Mankowski (Philip Anthony Mankowski) was born on January 9, 1953 in Buffalo, New York. He made his Major League debut on August 30, 1976 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .276 with 3 home runs and 27 RBI. Mankowski played for the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Phil Mankowski's best season was 1977, when he hit for a .276 average.
