Born on February 1, 1867 in Dundas, Ontario (Canada), Pete Wood (Peter Burke Wood) played for the Buffalo Bisons and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 2 year career. Wood broke into the bigs on July 15, 1885 with the Buffalo Bisons, and put up a 4.44 ERA in 198.2 innings pitched in 1885, his rookie year.
