Pete Whisenant (Thomas Peter Whisenant) was born on December 14, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1952 for the Boston Braves. In 1956, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI. Whisenant played for the Boston Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 8 year career.
