Born on October 27, 1952 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Pete Vuckovich (Peter Dennis Vuckovich) played for the Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 11 year career. Vuckovich broke into the bigs on August 3, 1975 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.65 ERA in 110.1 innings pitched in 1976, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Pete Vuckovich's best season was 1978, when he posted a 2.54 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 149 batters.
