Born on May 10, 1969 in Austin, Texas, Pete Schourek (Peter Alan Schourek) played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 11 year career. Schourek broke into the bigs on April 9, 1991 with the New York Mets, and put up a 4.27 ERA in 86.1 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Pete Schourek's best season was 1995, when he posted a 3.22 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 160 batters.
