Born on July 9, 1875 in Adams, Massachusetts, Pete McBride (Peter William McBride) played for the Cleveland Spiders and St. Louis Perfectos over the course of his 2 year career. McBride broke into the bigs on September 20, 1898 with the Cleveland Spiders, and put up a 4.08 ERA in 64 innings pitched in 1899, his rookie year.
