Pete Mangum (Ernest Glynde Mangum) was born on January 17, 1931 in Forest, Louisiana. After going to high school at Rolling Fork (MS), Mangum attended the University of Mississippi. Mangum made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the New York Giants. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Giants the entire time. Mangum also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Denver Broncos the entire time.
