Pete Mackanin (Peter Mackanin) was born on August 1, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on July 3, 1973 for the Texas Rangers. In 1975, his rookie year, he hit .225 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI. Mackanin played for the Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 9 year career.
