Pete Liske (Peter A. Liske) was born on May 24, 1942 in Plainfield, New Jersey. After going to high school at Plainfield (NJ), Liske attended Pennsylvania State University. Liske made his professional debut in the AFL in 1964 with the New York Jets. He played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets over the course of his 2 year AFL career.Liske also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos over the course of his 3 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1971 was Pete Liske's best year, as he tossed 11 TDs.
