Pete Ladygo (Peter Glenn Ladygo) was born on June 23, 1925 in West Brownsville, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Allegheny Prep (Pittsburgh, PA), Ladygo attended Potomac State College and the University of Maryland. Ladygo made his professional debut in the NFL in 1952 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1952 was Pete Ladygo's best year.
