Born on September 23, 1966 in Commack, New York, Pete Harnisch (Peter Thomas Harnisch) played for the Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 14 year career. Harnisch broke into the bigs on September 13, 1988 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 4.62 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Pete Harnisch's best season was 1993, when he posted a 2.98 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 185 batters.
