Pete Compton (Anna Sebastian Compton) was born on September 28, 1889 in San Marcos, Texas. He made his Major League debut on September 6, 1911 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1912, his rookie year, he hit .280 with 2 home runs and 30 RBI. Compton played for the St. Louis Browns, St. Louis Terriers, Boston Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Pete Compton's best season was 1912, when he hit for a .280 average.
