Pete Cole (Garth R. Cole) was born on May 5, 1916 in Stamford, Texas. After going to high school at Stamford (TX), Cole attended Trinity University. Cole made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 4 year career.
