Pete Carroll Spits Back at Les Miles Regarding Opponents Along with the Pac-10

From the Tony La Russa School of Thinking and Logic it is a pleasure to bring you this and appears the school has its first graduate of the program…Why, it’s none other than LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles. In case you missed it last week called out Pete Carroll and the USC Trojans so to speak by saying the following…

" I would like nothing better than to play USC for the [national] title, I can tell you this, that they have a much easier road to travel," Miles said. "They're going to play real knockdown drag-outs with UCLA and Washington, Cal-Berkeley, Stanford - some real juggernauts - and they're going to end up, it would be my guess, in some position so if they win a game or two, that they'll end up in the title [game]."I would like that path for us. I think the SEC provides much stiffer competition."

So we’re going to start this already…How the SEC is the toughest conference in all the land, right? Yeah, and "Who’s Now"…Enough with it already! Although that brings up an interesting point! "Who’s Now"? Pete Carroll or Les Miles? ESPN’s no where to be found on that one! Man, those SEC conference meetings must be staffed with a shit load of baby sitters…Why do we have to hear this year after year? It’s like saying Beano Cook is sporting a quadruple chin…We know the song, along with the lyrics! While there’s truth to what Les said in comparing the two conferences, that’s like saying "My girlfriend is hotter than yours!" Some shit you shut the yap about! For somebody that tells his players to watch what they say, he doesn’t take his own advice too well, now does he? Or just maybe he wanted to get a head start on winning "The SEC Crier of the Year". It’s an annual battle year in and year out…And now you put Nick Saban in the mix along side Tommy Tuberville, well, it’s quite a showdown!

You'll have to forgive Pete Carroll for not responding ASAP and if he missed out on last week's mud slinging at USC to these remarks that Miles had to say sooner…For he’s in a world of his own, doing that whole recruiting and building and maintaining that whole football program, powerhouse team thing that he has built. Although the comments went solely directed at SC, why not just slam the entire Pac-10 and the opponents on the Trojans schedule while you’re at it Les. Must say…Tastefully done my friend! Especially when one considers the fact that he had 5 first rounders on his team last year and couldn't even win the SEC West. It would seem to me that based on that fact he really should be focusing more on Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida improving his coaching and less on attacking and calling out one of the best programs in the country and picking apart their schedule!

Although in typical fashion, good ole Petey took the high road on this one too by responding in this fashion…

"He's really taking a shot at all the other schools we play. Maybe the comments should come from the coaches at the other schools, including Charlie (Weis) at Notre Dame. He didn't slam us. He slammed all the other schools we play."

Now people can say what they want about Pete Carroll, but two things…Few coaches can match what he has done at USC in any sport and there are not too many more savvy coaches at handling the media and controversies such a this! And for this him and his program commands respect…Not to be spat at from a guy who basically walked right into the LSU job when Saban left! Okay, so you’re a little above Jim Harbaugh level as a head coach, but it’s obvious both are sharing the same mentality when it comes to spatting at the Trojans!

It’s just too bad that Les Miles just made his bed, now must lie in it. No doubt expectations are high in Death Valley, but cooking your goose and making your death bed by turning up the heat on that spotlight already shining upon yourself and your team, well that’s not really a good thing! I have a feeling that we'll hear those quotes repeated more than a few times this year. Enjoy being on the Budweiser Hot Seat all year long just because you had a case of oral diarrhea!

In conjunction with the Major League Baseball All-Star Break combine with another Wimbledon title for Roger Federer, LastRowSports.com Pick’em Poll wants to know what is currently the best sport rivalry? As a perquisite being up on your current events is a must! For this has signs of becoming a scientific poll!!! So pull your **** finger out of your ass and start playing with your mouse…Vote now bastards!! Please be kind and cleanse the mouse when finished polling in the Pick’em Poll!

The SEC is the best conference in college football, we all know this. But the Pac-10 is sneaky; we all know the Trojans will be nasty, Cal will be solid with DeSean Jackson at WR, and beware the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers...
