Pete Barnes (Peter G. Barnes) was born on August 31, 1945 in Keatchie, Louisiana. After going to high school at Mary C. Womack (Longview, TX), Barnes attended Southern University. Barnes made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the Houston Oilers. He played in the AFL for 3 years, playing for the Houston Oilers and San Diego Chargers over the course of his 3 year AFL career.Barnes also played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots over the course of his 8 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1969 was Pete Barnes's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
