Peanuts Lowrey (Harry Lee Lowrey) was born on August 27, 1917 in Culver City, California. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1942 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .292 with 1 home run and 63 RBI. Lowrey played for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Peanuts Lowrey's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .283 average and knocked in 89 runs.
