Little is known definitively about Podkolzine's play because he has played so few games, but his prodigious size is clearly his best asset. The 7'5" Siberian is a fearsome shot-blocking presence (although, like most shot-blocking specialists, he's also a fouling machine), and he certainly has the means to clog the lane and grab his share of rebounds. Other than that, though, Podkolzine is the definition of the word "raw", lacking fundamentals and anything resembling an offensive game. He spent another season in the NBDL, but he's still at least a few years away from even grabbing a bench role in the NBA. At least he's only 22, though, so he still has a few more years to develop into a contributor.
