Paul Robeson (Paul Leroy Robeson) was born on April 9, 1898 in Princeton, New Jersey. After going to high school at Somerville (NJ), Robeson attended Rutgers State University of New Jersey. Robeson made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Akron Pros. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Akron Pros the entire time. Robeson also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Milwaukee Badgers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1922 was Paul Robeson's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
