Paul Jappe (Paul Eugene Jappe) was born on January 16, 1898 in Union Hill, New Jersey. After going to high school at Commercial (Brooklyn, NY), Jappe attended Syracuse University. Jappe made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Brooklyn Lions over the course of his 4 year career.
