Born on January 4, 1960 in Southampton, New York, Paul Gibson (Paul Marshall Gibson) played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Mets and New York Yankees over the course of his 8 year career. Gibson broke into the bigs on April 8, 1988 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.93 ERA in 92 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Paul Gibson's best season was 1990, when he posted a 3.05 ERA and struck out 56 batters.
