Born on December 10, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan, Paul Assenmacher (Paul Andre Assenmacher) played for the Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 14 year career. Assenmacher broke into the bigs on April 12, 1986 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 2.50 ERA in 68.1 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Paul Assenmacher's best season was 1991, when he posted a 3.24 ERA, notched 15 saves and struck out 117 batters.
