Born on September 15, 1967 in Van Nuys, California, Paul Abbott (Paul David Abbott) played for the Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 11 year career. Abbott broke into the bigs on August 21, 1990 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 3.10 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Paul Abbott's best season was 2001, when he posted a 4.25 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 118 batters.
