Patriots vs NFL Flame Thread - Go Wild

gal_bp_09_12_2007.jpg

Is there a sports team out there currently more polarizing than the New England Patriots?

You either love'em or hate'em.

Unconditionally.

One questions if New York Jets fans (the select few without attention deficit and have the ability to collect and retain long term memories)ponder the thought that had Bill Belichick not end his career with the Jets after a torturous, grinding one-day career, would this so-called dynasty reside in New York rather than Foxborough?

After all, the gray cloth hooded fang that seemingly never blinks and converses in a flat monotone voice is a genius according to his legions of bandwagon jumping defenders, right?

With the NFL season only 16 games in length, it is difficult for this sport to truly capitalize on a rivalry other than one or two game match ups against divisional foes.

Imagine embattled Red Sox and Yankee fans - your teams only playing against each other once or twice a year. What horror!

Undoubtedly, Belichick is convinced that the entire NFL "is out to get" his beloved team. Or at least that is what has been mesmerized by Patdom. A global conspiracy in play to destroy the team's bid for a perfect season capped by a Super Bowl victory.

And to NFL fans outside Patdom, is the conspiracy the other way around? Is this team pardoned for every cheating discretion {ahem Spy Gate} to insure that Shula's band of geriatric wheezebags can no longer lay celebratory claim as the only undefeated team in NFL history?

Ironically, the Fins soon to be led by the Big Tuna will futilely attempt to bring down the Belichick Empire this weekend. Of course, it would be pure lunacy to even give Miami a second thought to win this football game. After all, when have the Patriots ever {cough, cough} lost a game to the Dolphins that should've been an easy blowout?

And for that last Pats game of the regular season against who? Oh yeah, the New York Giants (how ironic). Will you watch it? Can you watch it? Remember, Bryant Gumbel has got the call to potentially broadcast history on the NFL Network....

The New England Patriots - Greatest Team Ever? Soon-to-be Greatest Choke of All-Time?, Underrated? Overrated? Loved? Hated, Cheaters????, * or no *?

Now let the hate flow....
