Pat Richter (Hugh Vernon Richter) was born on September 9, 1941 in Madison, Wisconsin. After going to high school at East (Madison, WI), Richter attended the University of Wisconsin. Richter made his professional debut in the NFL in 1963 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Pat Richter's best year, as he hauled in 42 receptions, had 533 receiving yards and caught 9 TD passes.
