Pat Holmes
[edit] Biography
Pat Holmes (James Patrick Holmes) was born on August 3, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Del Rio (TX), Holmes attended Texas Technical University. Holmes made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the Houston Oilers. He played in the AFL for 4 years, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time. Holmes also played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Houston Oilers and Kansas City Chiefs over the course of his 4 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1973 was Pat Holmes's best year.
Pat Holmes also attended Northeast High School (now MacArthur H. S.) in San Antonio, TX some time around 1955 (I'm not sure of the year.) I played football and basketball with him. I was always suprised at how fast he was for such a big guy.
