Born on May 17, 1957 in San Cristobal, San Cristobal (Dominican Republic), Pascual Perez (Pascual Gross Perez) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Montreal Expos and New York Yankees over the course of his 11 year career. Perez broke into the bigs on May 7, 1980 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.96 ERA in 86.1 innings pitched in 1981, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Pascual Perez's best season was 1983, when he posted a 3.43 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 144 batters.
