Born on November 21, 1865 in Knightstown, Indiana, Parke Swartzel (Parke B. Swartzel) played for the Kansas City Cowboys for his entire 1 year career. Swartzel broke into the bigs on April 17, 1889 with the Kansas City Cowboys, and put up a 4.32 ERA in 410.1 innings pitched in 1889, his rookie year.
