Today the Mets made two moves. They recalled Chan Ho Park and purchased the contract of Ruben Gotay, both from AAA New Orleans.
While Chan Ho Park has an enormous ERA of 7.29 and a 3 -1 record, he is getting the call over Jorge Sosa who started yesterday for NO. Sosa is now 4 - 0 with 1.13 era. Talk about a day late and a dollar short.
Ruben Gotay is batting .256 with 2 HR 12 runs and 13 RBI's in 23 games for NO. He will be the back up 2b while Damion Easley starts in place of the injured Jose Valentin. This is a great time to get a good look at what this kid can do. Will he be the 2b of the future or will the Mets have to go out and acquire a 2b in the offseason.
Orlando Hernandez & Jose Valentin have both been placed on the 15 day DL. El Duque with bursitis in his shoulder and Valentin with a partial tear in his ACL.
Lets go Mets!
