Pac Ten Questions: Trojan Depth

Trojan defensive end Kyle Moore intercepted a pass for the second straight game.

On a damp, cool evening in Los Angeles, the USC Trojans took the field against the Washington State and showed the nation why they are worthy of the nation's top team. The Trojans trounced the visiting Washington State Cougars by a score of 47-14. But the Trojans weren't the only Pac Ten team that looked good on Sunday. Here are the conference power rankings and questions for each team.

1. USC: Could this be Pete Carroll's deepest team ever?

2. Cal: We know the Bears can score, but can Tedford get them to play defense?

3. Oregon: While the Ducks have gotten off to a fast start, will they maintain the momentum for the rest of the season?

4. Arizona State: Did you expect that Dennis Erickson could turn this thing around so quickly.

5. UCLA: Does anybody want to play quarterback for the Bruins right now?

6. Washington: Is the Jake Locker hype starting to wear thin right now?

7. Oregon State: Don't the Beavers jerseys look like they have bras attached to them?

8. Washington State: Is Alex Brink the best quarterback to never play in a bowl game?

9. Arizona: So what is hotter: the Tucson Desert and Mike Stoops's office chair?

10. Stanford: So what is Jim Harbuagh saying now?

Ii did not think that Erickson would have turn things around so quickly, but I am truly waiting to see how they do: on the road and against someone with a defense. I think that they will win in Stanford. They could potentially host Cal with a 6-1 record...or even a 7-0 record.
