Born on November 4, 1968 in Holguin, Cuba, Osvaldo Fernandez (Osvaldo Fernandez) played for the San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 4 year career. Fernandez broke into the bigs on April 5, 1996 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 4.61 ERA in 171.2 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Osvaldo Fernandez's best season was 1996, when he posted a 4.61 ERA and struck out 106 batters.
